Formed in 2018, Loose Parts (formerly "Loose Parts & Godly Playroom") dropped the last bit because nobody could remember the last bit - particularly Ian, who would always tell people about his band "Loose Parts & Godly Plaything".

LP is basically two guys. Eric Faro (guitars, keys, vocals, bass) and Ian Keldin (production, bass, keys, vocals and zither). Eric, a Navy vet (not the animal kind) is a full time dad to two kids who spent 14+ years in IT, developing software and schtuff. In 2014, Eric decided he'd rather be in debt than make money, so he quit his job and set up a small basement studio. After years of performing for wolf spiders (and the occasional acoustic gig) he met Ian, who coaxed him out of the basement. Ian (father of three and husband to one) owns and operates a small, Denver-based video-production company. He is best known for producing and starring in "Cannibal: The Musical", the first feature film by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Ian also plays drums and produces Denver's The Mossgatherers.

Eric and Ian met after their sons became best friends at an unnamed private school (let's just call it... Dent Kenver). The two dads ran into each other at a 6th grade back-to-school party in 2014 where they struck up a conversation about music. It soon became clear that both were musicians, which filled the other with unease, because there's nothing worse than the dreaded suggestion, "We should jam sometime!"

But years later (and several JV soccer games later) that's just what they did.  A keen musical symbiosis quickly emerged. Eric strummed out a tune he'd written called "Faded", which Ian immediately vibed with. The song was recorded at their respective houses with Eric on guitar and Ian on bass and keys (Ian programmed the drums in Logic).  LPGP released the song as a single in early 2017.

In early 2018, the guys started work on their second single "Feels Like", which took a comically long time to complete and was released in late 2018. Their third song "Calmed" took much less time (about 5 weeks) and was recorded at a lake house in northern Wisconsin during the pandemic. All three songs were recently re-released as an EP under the new band name.

In October of 2020, Eric moved to New Hampshire while Ian remains in Colorado. The band is currently working on a several new songs remotely, because that's just how things are done these days.
